Springfield Libraries Celebrate National Library Week

Wednesday, April 13 is Open House Day at All Branches!

Libraries Transform, this year’s theme for National Library Week will be celebrated with an “Open House Afternoon” from 1-5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at all Springfield City Library branches, as they welcome visitors to their unique transformative spaces. For instance, libraries transform the lives of the more than a quarter of U.S. households that don’t have a computer with an Internet connection.

Don’t have a library card? Stop in to any branch with your ID and sign up for a new library card, and check out our materials and resources. Current cardholders will have an opportunity to exchange their old card for a fresh newly branded card. Special demonstrations and programs will take place. Books and materials in the Friends of the Springfield Library Book sale areas will be half price all week. Stop in to any branch, where you’ll find friendly, well-trained, helpful staff!
