These items can be used at the library, but most cannot be checked out.<\/p>\n<p>All local history titles in our collection are catalogued and searchable in the <a title=\"C\/WMARS online catalog\" href=\"https:\/\/springfield.cwmars.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online catalog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>(For a more comprehensive local history collection, including archival material, please contact the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.springfieldmuseums.org\/the_museums\/springfield_history\/exhibits\/view\/156-springfield_history_library_archives\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Springfield History Library &amp; Archives <\/a> at the Wood Museum of Springfield History.)<\/p>\n<h6>Springfield City Directories and Springfield High School Yearbooks<\/h6>\n<p>The Central Library maintains a near-complete collection of City Directories from 1866 through 1989, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/springfieldcitylibrary?and%5B%5D=subject%3A%22Springfield+%28Mass.%29--Directories--Periodicals%22&amp;and%5B%5D=subject%3A%22Business+enterprises--Massachusetts+Springfield+Directories+Periodicals%22&amp;and%5B%5D=subject%3A%22Chicopee+%28Mass.%29--Directories%22&amp;and%5B%5D=subject%3A%22Longmeadow+%28Mass.%29--Directories%22&amp;and%5B%5D=subject%3A%22Springfield+%28Mass.%29--Directories%22&amp;and%5B%5D=subject%3A%22West+Springfield+%28Mass.%29--Directories%22&amp;and%5B%5D=subject%3A%22Business+enterprises--Massachusetts%22&amp;sort=-date\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">some digitized online<\/a>, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.springfieldlibrary.org\/library\/yearbooks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">limited collection of Springfield college and public high school yearbooks dating from the early 1900s to the late 1980s<\/a>, many of which are also digitized online.<\/p>\n<p>Please contact the Central Library reference desk with inquiries about these resources at 413-263-6828 ext 213 or use our <a title=\"Ask a Librarian\" href=\"http:\/\/www.springfieldlibrary.org\/library\/help\/ask-a-librarian\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ask a Librarian reference form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h6>Springfield MA Newspapers<\/h6>\n<p>The library offers access to Springfield newspapers from 1844 to the present online through the <a href=\"https:\/\/infoweb.newsbank.com\/apps\/news\/user\/librarycard\/SpringfieldPublicLibrary?destination=browse-multi%3Fp%3DAMNEWS%26t%3Dfavorite%253ARBSSRWEA%2521Republican%252520Collection%252520Historical%252520and%252520Current%26action%3Dbrowse\">Republican Historical and Current collection<\/a>. The collection is available to browse at all library locations, and is available remotely to CW Mars cardholders. See the &#8220;Newspapers&#8221; tab below for more information.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Library holds Springfield newspapers on microfilm from 1900 to the present. (Springfield newspapers prior to 1900 are held at the <a href=\"https:\/\/springfieldmuseums.org\/about\/museum-of-springfield-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Springfield History Library &amp; Archives<\/a>.) Microfilm readers are available for self-service use.
