Central Library, Rotunda
Sunday, February 24 | 2-3 PM | All Ages
The program includes works by pioneering women composers such as Hildegard von Bingen and Fanny Mendelssohn, but also includes jazz standards and more. Founded in 2002, Cantabile specializes in the music of the European Renaissance, with far-ranging forays into other repertoire. The ensemble has been featured in music series from Boston to Warwick, N.Y., as well as by local venues including the Arcadia Players, Mohawk Trail Concerts, and the Renaissance Center at UMass-Amherst, among a number of others. Cantabile is Mary Hubbell, Kayla Werlin, Justina Golden, James Mead, and Peter Shea, all music professionals practicing in western Massachusetts.
Underwritten by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Friends of the Library, the concert includes a free attendance raffle open to all those who stay for the concert.
