November Family Activities

Kindness Month: Chalk the Walk

November 2-16

We’ll be busy this November drawing and writing kind words and happy pictures on our library sidewalk. Keep the kindness going!

Call the library and schedule a time to pick up your sidewalk chalk, then get to work writing positive messages and drawings in your neighborhood. Take a photo and share it with us!

At the following locations: Brightwood Branch, East Springfield Branch, Indian Orchard Branch, Mason Square Branch

Leaves of Kindness

Entire Month of November

Help fill our library with leaves of kindness! Pick up your “leaf” at curbside, and add a kind message. At the end of the month, one special leaf will win a drawing for a $15 gift card to an area store. For all ages.

At the following locations: East Forest Park Branch, East Springfield Branch, Mason Square Branch

Me and My Community: An Art Show for Children 5 and under

Entire Month of November

Enjoy an interactive project with your little one while teaching the importance of friends, neighbors and community helpers. Children are invited to submit a picture or poster on the theme of “Me and My Community” to be displayed in the windows of the Sixteen Acres and East Forest Park Branches.

Use material from home or contact Sixteen Acres or East Forest Park to collect extra paper and crayons through curbside pickup. Adults are welcome to include a brief caption along with the child’s first name and age.

To receive a board book participation prize, please put an adult’s full name and contact information on the back of each entry. Entries can be returned by mail, curbside pickup or book drop.
