Current Volunteer Needs:
Reading Partners at Sixteen Acres ~ assists elementary age children with reading and writing at Sixteen Acres Branch Library. Sessions are scheduled during the school year and are by appointment only. We work with your availability. (Fall)
Library-in-Your-Mailbox + Program:
Programmer ~ read aloud, run a book discussion group, or offer similar programming to nursing homes & other senior facilities
Reader's Advisor ~ Select and prepare materials for program participants
Classroom Assistants for Read/Write/Now ~ assistants needed for day and evening classes; training will be provided; help teachers address needs of adult learners in multi-level classes with teacher's support and supervision; requires high school graduate with patience, sensitivity, and interest in learning about adult education ~ Read/Write/Now Adult Learning Center, Pine Point ~ morning & evening (M - Th) hours available
Shelving Assistants ~ assist staff with shelving books and other materials as well as shelf reading ~ Some Locations
STARR Outreach Story Time Presenter ~ travel to sites within the city to present story time ~ various sites booked for story time ~ training provided
