Summer Reading List: 2007

graphic

Assignment:

•  Read at least two of the books listed below for your Summer reading. You may not choose books that you have read already.

•  Written Response :

•  Write a brief summary of the book (minimum of 250 words).

•  Write about your personal reaction to the book. What did the book make you think about? What is a major theme of this book and how did you connect to that theme? (Also 250 word minimum.)

Scoring: The full assignment (summary & reaction for both books) is worth 1 test grade toward your 1st semester ELA Literature class. However, each student may earn up to 50 bonus points by either handing in written work that is of high quality or by reading and writing about more than two books. Thus a little extra effort could start you off with 50 extra credit points in your ELA Literature class.
