A project of this scope requires support, financial and otherwise, from a large number of organizations and individuals. The Springfield City Library was fortunate to be awarded key grants from: the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provision of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the state of Massachusetts; the Eugene A. Dexter Charitable Fund administered by Bank of America, Trustee; the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts; and the Springfield Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Additional financial support was provided by Joseph and Mary Napolitan and anonymous private donors. Our community partners have supported the project in a wide variety of ways, including: hosting one or more book discussion sessions; incorporating The Color of Water into the curriculum; providing panelists for thematic programs; offering concert space; and helping to promote the project. While organizations continue to offer support, partners at press time included: Armoury-Quadrangle Civic Association Baystate Health System Christ Church Cathedral Community Music School of Springfield East Forest Park Civic Association Eastfield Mall Edwards Books Friends of the Springfield Library Girl Scouts of the Pioneer Valley Hungry Hill Center Indian Orchard Citizens' Council Jewish Community Center of Springfield Mason-Wright Retirement Community Museum Park Apartments Puerto Rican Cultural Center Read Write Now Adult Learning Center Reeds Landing Spanish American Union Springfield City Hall – Mayor's Office Springfield Hobby Club Springfield Library Commission Springfield Park Department Springfield Public Schools Springfield Technical Community College St. John's Congregational Church Step Up Springfield Temple Beth El Home | Catalog | Databases | Branches | Kids | Teens | Calendar | Site Index
