Are you ready to give back to your community? Would you like to help people who love to read? Do you like working with people in a friendly, supportive environment? Consider becoming a Library-in-Your-Mailbox + volunteer! Library–in-Your-Mailbox + is Springfield City Library’s free books-by-mail program for Springfield residents who are homebound or have disabilities. This ongoing program needs committed volunteers in order to expand and thrive. To meet an ever-increasing demand for Library–in-Your-Mailbox + services, we plan to add deliveries to participating facilities (senior housing, nursing homes, etc.), as well as new programming such as reading aloud and book discussion groups at those facilities. But without the help of committed volunteers, we won’t be able to meet this need. If you love books and want to enrich the lives of others in our community, we need you! Volunteer Roles
