Infants, Toddlers, and Pre-readers SRC-2015-kids-promo Pick up a tracking sheet from any Springfield City Library location. Every time you read your child a book, mark off one of the sections on the tracking sheet. After you have read ten books together, return the sheet to any Springfield City Library location and choose a prize book! Yes, we even have board books especially for babies and toddlers!

Readers in grades K-5 Pick up a tracking sheet from any Springfield City Library location. There are seven different sections on the tracking sheet. Start with any section and complete the sections in any order. On five of the days you will read for at least 20 minutes. On the other two days you might read for at least 20 minutes, OR you might: attend a library program, draw or write something about one of the books you read during that week, visit a museum during that week, or answer a Hero’s Quiz card (pick one up at the library). Once you have completed your tracking sheet, return it to any Springfield City Library location and choose your prize book. You may earn one prize per seven day period. Children who complete at least one tracking sheet will receive in invitation to our Roller Skating Party to be held on Monday, July 20 from 6-8 p.m. at Interskate 91, 2043 Wilbraham Road in Wilbraham. Children who complete at least two tracking sheets may enter the statewide Boston Bruins raffle. Children who complete at least three tracking sheets receive an invitation to attend the library Celebration at the Forest Park Zoo on Saturday, August 15 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Children who complete at least four tracking sheets will be entered into a branch-specific raffle to win a pair of Big E tickets. The Big E runs from September 18 – October 4 this year.


Teen Readers

Pick up a Teen Summer Events brochure containing a bingo sheet and a list of teen programs from any Springfield Library location. Complete bingo squares by doing different kinds of reading – books, comics, magazines and online – and by attending library programs. Five completed squares in a row is bingo! Each bingo wins you a small prize and an entry ticket into your branch’s Amazon gift card raffle – limit one bingo sheet per week.

Bring your bingo sheet to a librarian (at the library branch where you are registered) to claim a small prize and to get a new bingo sheet, along with a ticket to our Roller Skating Party to be held on Monday, July 20 from 6-8 p.m. at Interskate 91, 2043 Wilbraham Road in Wilbraham. Teens who complete at least three bingo sheets will receive a ticket to the library Celebration at the Forest Park Zoo on Saturday, August 15, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Teens who complete at least five bingo sheets may order a book of their choice, up to a list price of $15. (One book prize per teen). Teens who complete six or more bingo sheets will continue to receive small prizes, plus earn more chances to win their branch’s raffle prize! Teens who attend a 3D printer program at any library location will earn an extra raffle ticket!

 

Adult Readers

Pick up or download complete instructions at any Springfield City Library location. Earn a chance to win a gift card every time you complete a row on your bingo card. With bonuses, a completed bingo card offers 21 chances to win! There are three different bingo cards this summer, so once you are done with your first card, be sure to pick up the next one.

Bingo cards may be dropped off at any Springfield Library location, or your completed e-card may be emailed to askalibrarian@springfieldlibrary.org. Book reviews should be recorded on the review blog; please ask a librarian if you need help using it.

Raffle prizes include gift cards to Barnes and Noble Booksellers, Hot Table Café, Leone’s Restaurant, Friendly’s Restaurant, the Puerto Rican Bakery, and more. Cards are valued at $25 or $50. Completed bingo rows must be recorded by Saturday, July 18 at 5 p.m. to be eligible for the first six raffle drawings, and by Saturday, August 22 at 5 p.m. for the final six drawings and prizes. The first drawing (six winners) will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 and the second (six winners) will be held at the Finale on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Mason Square Branch Library. Two additional grand prizes valued at $70 each will be awarded for the members who complete the most bingo squares.
