Springfield City Library Hosts Summer Bash

The Springfield City Library hosts a festive Summer Celebration every August. This free event for families will feature games, music, giveaways, a maze, and gorgeous facepainting by The Happy Face Painter.

  • Reading Success by 4th Grade, a project of the Irene E. & George A. Davis Foundation

On the Quadrangle behind the Springfield City Library, located at 220 State Street in Springfield.


11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 13th

  • 11-1: Games such as a giant maze, bean bag toss, and more
  • 11-1: Facepainting
  • 11-until supplies last: Giveaways of books, slingback book bags, flying discs
  • 11:30: Storytime
  • 11:45-12:45: Latin music concert by MusiCultura

MusiCultura (made up of Edwin Velez, on vocals and guitar; Tony Rivera, vocals and maracas; Gilberto Rivera, vocals and percussion; and Orlando Zayas on vocals and “Cuban Tres.”)

The Springfield City Library wants to celebrate the end of summer before school begins and reward local children who have participated in the Summer Reading Club.
