“Howlarious Halloween” Show with Mary Jo Maichack

Minstrel Storyteller to Perform at Forest Park Branch Library
Thursday, October 20, 4:30 p.m.


Springfield City Library’s Forest Park Branch will host Minstrel Storyteller Mary Jo Maichack to perform her “Howlarious Halloween” show, which includes ghost stories, songs and jokes. The performance is scheduled for Thursday, October 20th and is suitable for both children and teens.

Ms. Maichack has won two national awards for her storytelling, has performed some 3,000 shows in libraries, schools and festivals since 1989. She was featured several times on WGBY-PBS TV, the Connecticut Storytelling Festival, Three Apples, and Mark Twain Festivals and in venues from San Francisco to Venice, Italy.

“Howlarious Halloween” is possible thanks to a grant from the Springfield Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. The show will start at 4:30 p.m. at the Forest Park Branch Library, located at 380 Belmont Avenue in Springfield.
