Free Concert to be Held in Outdoor Library Courtyard
Thursday, July 13, 6:30 p.m.
The Springfield City Library is excited to bring blues musician Barrett Anderson to the Forest Park Branch Library courtyard for a lively concert. The evening will include music as well as stories of the people and culture that produced one of America’s great cultural contributions to the world. During Barrett’s 19-year career, he has won a Boston Music Award (2013 Blues Artist of the Year), recorded two albums, and has played with many of the most important figures in the current blues world. A true student of the blues, Barrett brings the history of blues music through the twentieth century, from the Mississippi delta to Chicago and beyond, to life through his songs and stories. The concert will start at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 13th, at 380 Belmont Street in Springfield.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Springfield Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
