"He"
by Katelyn R.
He who has this fanatical control over my mind
They say there's no escaping it because he is
one of a kind
Often it's as if he is my puppet master
Controlling every which way I go, so that this love could never be a disaster
He put the ever essence soul back into my heart
And this I why we could never split apart
He who said I was why he waked up everyday
To see the sun shine on my soft satin face
She who is I loves to her the soft warm whispers at night
While her hold me to him body to body so tight
That I can actually hear his heart beat with passion
And every night it tells me the story
Of how we had made love
And the angels blessed us and all the above
I could never let him go
For he had shown me that there is so much love in the world
Because I never believed in love ever since I was just a little girl
And that it starts right here
With him and me
That we could live endlessly in harmony
Just as long as I let the wind rush
through my hair
And stop saying that life isn't fair
I would do anything to please him
Because I have a very good reason
Because nothing is stronger than our love
Because yes it does come from the above
The angels had blessed my heart to let him in to what had been crushed and crumbled
Because I knew that all this love could end with just one fumble
My greatest fear was that I would get hurt
in the end
Because I had so many things about men
He who had showed me the way
Is the one that I think about every dam day?
Body to body touch to touch
How much I just wanted to show him
how to lust
He is the one that I love
Before I didn't even know what that was
He who loves me
And yes it is there permanently
Because he controls my mind
Because yes he is one of a kind.
Heart
A poem by Katelyn R.
what am I to do with myself when the rigid lines on my wrist stay such a vibrant red
sometimes all I hear in my head is just don't get out of bed
my loving wings don't guide me no more
all they do is find ways to not confide in me
anymore
how do I live another day knowing how I am such a disgrace
to wake up the next morning with the same twisted face
sometimes I don't even recognize myself anymore
I use to be happy and make fun of people who were abnormal
even when the sun shines in the morning
I get mad just of the feeling of knowing
that I have to live another day
sometimes all I have to do is get on my hands and knees and pray
to tell God to not let life rain on my parade
because only if I knew which way the wind was trying to push me in
believe me I would be there within a blink of a tearful eye
or maybe I'm just blind to what is in front of my face
to know how much I have to fight for pride and even space
but I ask this and only this
how do I stop my mind from blowing into a million pieces
because I would want nothing more than to let this sorrow fall into the creases of what is forgotten and never remembered
and just let my mind stop being such the pretender

Love Hurts
By Melissa G.
I'm trying to let you go
I'm trying to keep myself from another mistake like you
I'm trying to hide my love that i feel for you
I'm trying to hide the tears that
i've cried for you
I'm trying to run away from you.
Gundam Seed Destiny

Anime Fan
Gundam Seed Destiny is a series about a pilot who desires to win fights and stop wars is as bitter as the death of his own family. Shinn Asuka is the pilot of the impulse gundam, which is not powered by an N-Jammer canceller or neutron Jammer. His hatred comes from the very hatred of his country Orb. The war caused the people of Orb to retreat and in doing so Shinn saw first-hand what a war was all about, as his parents were blown up and the remains left. Now as the war that Kira and Athrun and many others fought to stop will begin, a new and fire will burn in space as nuclear weapons are used and people killed. Can people sit by and do nothing? As chairmen Dulliandl said: "we sent children to fight a adult war and they suffered" for it. What result will occur from the tragedies of these solders and pilots who will do anything to stop this war from starting? Or will Orb and Blue Cosmos provoke Zaft into a war that the universe will never forget? As Blue Cosmos says: "for the preservation of our blue and pure world."

Spells versus Guns : Book I

Part 9
MATABA CITY, KENKITEN, Rolaun River:
< We retrieved the sultan from Iqueda and had him delivered to a Anarchy hospital in Ari-Tajou for safe keeping. He is under critical condition. So far, there has been a sighting of Prince Sendemore the Valiant here in this general area of Kenkiten. We are still trying to understand what the idea of brain washing a princess and trying to assassinate the sultan and Codename Mecha will achieve for these people, but we will find out. Codename Mecha, Codename Pixie, Codename Ninja, your mission is to try and locate Prince Sendemore the Valiant. Be very low key here. The people especially dislike foreigners and technology. Codename Pixie, you hide in one of Codename Mecha's bags.
<The danger level of this operation has increased and therefore you two shall be joined by another agent, Codename Mage. You can find him on 901 Celin Road. His father is a sorcerer and lives with him, so try to be very low key. He should ready to go by the time you three arrive there. Let's try to wrap up this mission ASAP, agents. This is Madam, over and out, >
The Anarchy owned boat swished on the waves of the Rolaun. Ll'ena, Ahmi, and Codename Ninja were down below in the boat. Ahmi had been playing a message that had been delivered to them by Madam. It had taken them two days to travel half across the globe to get to Kenkiten. Kenkiten was a medium sized country, filled with religious people who stuck to their old ways.
Codename Ninja stood up after the message was over, "You heard Madam. Let's move out,"
"Hey," Ll'ena said, touching Codename Ninja's arm.
Codename Ninja whirled around, looking to fight Ll'ena. He grabbed her hand roughly, looking at her, "Do not touch me," He flung Ll'ena hand away from him. "We are on a mission here, not a cruise. Our relationship is professional, understand?"
"Can you at least tell me your name?" Ll'ena said. She smiled, "I'm Ll'ena Mm'ounara. This is," She pointed to Ahmi. "Ahmi, my Metal Fairy and partner. What's your name?"
Ninja made a face, "I repeat - we have a professional relationship, nothing more. I address you by your codename, and I would appreciate it if you would address me by mine, understand ?"
Ll'ena made a face as Ninja turned her back to her and left the room.
<He's rude for an Elf, Mademoiselle Ll'ena,> Ahmi said.
Ll'ena sighed.

MATABA CITY, KENKITEN, Saoahisan Road Market:
Ll'ena and Ninja stood in the marketplace, looking awkward as they wore the custom gown and robe of the country. Many people were in the market today, haggling and buying all sorts of products from others. Ahmi was hidden away inside of one of Ll'ena's tote bags, so not to frighten the locals and jeopardize their mission.
"I don't see anything that looks suspicious," Ninja said as he glanced around the area all around them.
"Neither do I," replied Ll'ena, "Should we go look for Codename Mage, now, since nothing is happening here?"
Ninja shook his head, "We should stick around just a little bit longer. You never know when something might turn up at the very last moment,"
Ll'ena folded her arms, "I still don't see anything,"
An old woman's cry went into the air. Ninja and Ll'ena ran over to investigate, only to find out that a tourist had taken a picture of her and she was deathly afraid of the flash. It was the custom belief here that if someone took a picture of you, you would lose your soul to the camera. An officer came up to the tourist and confiscated the camera and the man in handcuffs.
"I don't understand it," Ll'ena whispered to Ninja, "why are people so afraid of change and of the new technology here?"
Ninja made a face, "There's no point in trying to understand people. For the longest, our ancestors have believed that magick made everything work. They prayed to their gods for strength and power and to help their mages win in wars. The belief in magick has been around for so long that it has become instinct. If you take it away...then you sort of shatter a part of the people. That's why they're fighting it; they still want to believe in magick,"
Ll'ena nodded.
Ninja then sighed, "There's nothing going around here. Let's go find Mage,"
families instead of going to school or laughing or playing like they should be. It's a terrible system,"
"But..." Ll'ena MATABA CITY, Kenkiten, 901 Celin Road:
Ll'ena was amazed at the vast areas of wildlife that surrounded her. It was like glimpsing into the past. There were no noisy hovercars going down the streets every few minuets, only replaced by the rough clip-clop of horse hooves. There were no frustrated, impatient, taxi drivers screaming at pedestrians to 11
Ll'ena and Ninja had been riding a wagon to the area. They got off and Ninja paid the driver. The man gave them the tip of the hat and then clopped off, the wooden wheels squeaking behind him.
"He seemed so happy just to have 3 Djinns," commented Ll'ena.
"That's because a Djinn here is worth a lot more here," Ninja growled, "because their king is refusing technology, he is making life harder for the people. In places like Western Sulon and Rolisoa, they have robotic laborers, which makes productivity go up, which makes money go up, which means people have to work less hours. Here, they have to use regular labor like a 100 years ago. They have sweatshops in which eight year olds go to, earn not even half a Djinn per hour just to help feed their run across the cross-walk instead of calmly walking so that they could get to where they were going...and fast !
The silence and strange calmness was eerie.
began, "...but doesn't the king realize that the people are unhappy this way? Won't they revolt?"
"They won't revolt because they know that if they revolt, it will destroy this age old practice in which their fathers and fore fathers before them have done. They must either honor tradition or break it. There is no middle ground,"
"So it is..." Ll'ena paused in thought. "...honor your tradition and be unhappy or honor the new ways but be looked down on,"
"Exactly. You're either good or you're evil; right or wrong; up or down; scientist or mage. There is no neutral ground, just as there is no neutrality in war...and this is going to be a war,"
Ll'ena nodded, "I sense it too,"
The two approached a small cottage. It was made out of old, red, bricks and had a thatched roof along with a brick chimney. A stream of grayish-black smoke was steadily rising out of the chimney. Ll'ena knocked on the door. A man came to it - it was an elderly man, grey hair and beard with a gold and black robe and wearing amulets of multiple colors, signifying that he was as mage of some sort (possibly of nature or water magic).
"Excuse me," Ll'ena said, "but we are friends of your son and we were to meet today,"
"Oh! Nyche!" said the old man, "Let me just show you inside,"
Ll'ena and Ninja followed the old man into the cottage. The inside of the cottage was dingy. The wooden floorboards were looking rotten and there was no electricity. A fireplace was the only source of heat and light. Over the fireplace, a pot bubbled. There was a wooden table (possibly used for eating) and a bookcase along with a wooden chair.
"He's right in his room," said the old man, pointing to the door, "probably practicing his spells. He's such a good son,"
Ninja and Ll'ena nodded. Ninja went to the door and knocked.
"Come in," came the answer.
Ll'ena and Ninja entered the room. A young man, a little younger than Ll'ena, was sitting on a bed. He was reading by candlelight. He looked up at Ll'ena and Ninja and immediately blew out the candle and shut the book, placing it on the floor.
"Did you shut the door?" asked Nychen.
Ninja kicked the door closed behind them. He then pulled his badge out of his shirt, "The Anarchy has need of you, Codename Mage. This is Codename Mecha,"
"Come out, Ahmi," said Ll'ena.
Ahmi flittered out of the bag and flew around Nychen's head, < Bonjour monsieur Nychen! I am Ahmi, Codename Pixie, and very pleased to meet you! >
"...a fairy?" Nychen said. He then stared at Ahmi for a little while, "No, I don't sense any life force of energy coming from you. You must be made of metal; not alive,"
< No need to be rude! I'm just as much fairy as any other! You wouldn't be able to tell us apart if I were stand next to fairy just like me! > Ahmi snorted.
"Ahmi is a Metal Fairy," Ll'ena explained as Ahmi landed on her shoulder, "He's made out of circuits and wires. I got him as a toy when I was just a little girl. He's been with me every since,"
"It is very fascinating technology," commented Nychen, "but I have never truly seen an Elf of the Underworld up on the surface. Tell me, where do you live?"
"Enough with the formalities!" Ninja snapped, "We are on a mission here! Madam has sent us to retrieve you and find the missing royals!"
"Of course, of course," sighed Nychen, "No one from The Anarchy ever visits casually," He squatted and reached under his bed. He pulled out a robe and put it on. It was a white robe, possibly made of silk, with red trimmings. He put on the robe and looked at Ninja, Ll'ena and Ahmi. "Let's leave quietly so my father won't know,"
"But shouldn't you tell him?" asked Ll'ena.
"Get real," Nychen said, "my father is an old mage. He wouldn't understand anything that goes on with The Anarchy or me. The law here forces me to live with him because of his age and the fact my mother is dead and cannot take care of him. I'm his babysitter. I'm sure that lady next door who always comes over will take good care of him,"
"Let's get going," Ninja said.
"Ahmi, get back in the bag. We might be arrested if people see you," said Ll'ena.
< Right away, mademoiselle Ll'ena! > said Ahmi as he flittered back into the bag.
A scream ruptured into the air. Nychen ran to the window in his room and flung back the curtains and wiped away the dust on the dirty glass.
"Another old woman frightened by a camera?" Ninja growled.
"No!" Nychen yelled, "We've got to go!"
"Let me see!" Ll'ena said, running to the window. She saw man in a body suit. He had some sort of backpack on his back and two hoses hooked to his wrists. Out of the hoses, he was blowing fire and everything was in flames.
"This not good! This is not good!" Ninja said, "Is there a back way out of here?"
"Through here!" Nychen said, running for the door.
Nychen led them out the room, down a hallway, and out the house - running towards the destruction that was occurring.

To Cook Meat, Is It Good or Bad?
By Alana H. B.
I was in the kitchen and was seasoning the maroon-colored piece of steak. As I lay the seasoned meat on the round frying pan, the smells of oil and vegetables were fresh as if layers of pure, rich cream made by an angel to caress the vegetable and oil itself. When I put the steak in the pan, I waited a couple of minutes, then I saw a horrible sight I would never forget. As the steak cooked, I saw blood. I felt guilty and started to cry. I realized I was part of the murder of this animal. I felt disgusting. The mother of this animal must have felt sad. When the calf was born, she knew the fate it would have. Does she have hope for this animal? That one day it would be able to live freely? Or she knew that she would have to stop having hope and realize the truth?
I turned off the stove and asked my mom to cook. To live, it is worth it, but to kill another living being and eat it is despicable. I shouldn't, I wouldn't, I wonder: I should imagine if I was one of those animals. I know the thing I have done that was bad, but I haven't noticed it in years.
Surrounded by a Beat
By Alana H.B.
As I lay in my bedroom that is pitch dark, I closed by eyes tightly. I heard a sweet music beat that was so beautiful it surrounded me with its bright, vivid aura. I never felt like this before. The beat purified my dark lonely heart. I felt pure as an angel. This feeling enveloped my soul as if some heavenly being touched it itself. Suddenly, a thought came to my mind that I had felt this feeling before. I had a flashback of when I was in my mother's warm, soft arms and she caressed my head. Then she was humming a sweet soft beat that was surrounding my body. The picture of this in my mind was so perfect. I felt like I never wanted to get up. The beat that surrounded me was from the woman who cared for me so much, the woman who brought me birth. I know this now, I never want to get up. I was crying tears of joy.
Finally, I knew that I had to get up. I wanted to hear the music from my mother herself. In a way, I never knew me and her had things in common, but I was wrong. We both are surrounded by the purifying, angelic beat.
