The WMRLS/Springfield Library Regional Reference Service provides direct and mediated reference support to assist with inquiries beyond the scope of member libraries' missions and collections. Queries may be submitted by phone, fax or e-mail. WE REGRET THAT THIS SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC NOR TO LIBRARIES WHICH ARE NOT MEMBERS OF WMRLS. Members of the general public should contact their local library for reference assistance, visit the Springfield Central Library Reference Department in person, or use the Springfield Library AskALibrarian Online Reference Service. When using the Regional Reference Service: Conduct a reference interview to determine the user's needs as precisely as possible. List sources consulted in your library (with editions or dates of sources). Note: Libraries should send Title or Subject requests directly to the Western Region's Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Department. Please do not send these requests to Regional Reference. If the Regional Reference Support Staff does not respond at an agreed time or within a reasonable response time, contact Jan Resnick (413-665-9898 ext 115 or 800-282-7755 ext 115; e-mail jresnick@wmrls.org) at the Regional Office or Donna Goldthwaite, Regional Reference Services Librarian, Springfield Library (413-263-6828 ext. 437; email: dgoldthwaite@springfieldlibrary.org) for a follow-up. This service is continually evaluated. Your cooperation in alerting us to any problems will help us correct them quickly and keep the service effective. Please forward your comments and concerns to: Jan Resnick (Western Massachusetts Regional Library System). QUICK CONTACT INFORMATION: You may fax your request to 413-263-6817. A fax form is available for printing. For reference links, try our Reference Desk Bookmarks. Return to Western Massachusetts Regional Library System.
