- This book focuses on what children might see or experience while their mother is in the hospital. It reassures them if they cannot visit their mother and prepares them if they can. It ends with Mom coming home.

- Hannah already has a little brother, so she has decided that the new baby will be a sister. Though her parents try to warn her, she is still dismayed that the baby is a boy. As she gets used to him, she is able to give up her old expectations.

- This book focuses on how mothers feel when they are pregnant. Sidebars list things that children can do (such as draw a picture of what their new sibling might look like) and also provide “answers for the very curious” which offer more sophisticated answers as to what is going on with the baby. This book is written from an attachment parenting perspective.
