Summer Reading Lists from Area Schools

Kids and their families are invited to the Springfield City Library for fun activities during School Vacation Week in April. All activities are presented free of charge.
All libraries will be closed on Patriot's Day, Monday, April 21.

Spring Storytimes

Spring storytime registration is underway at the Springfield City Library. Space is available for the following sessions. Call or visit your local branch to sign today.

Wee Ones: Storytimes for caregivers and children ages 12 to 24 months.
Pine Point Branch, 204 Boston Road, 263-6855, Tuesdays, March 25 and April 1, 8, 15, and 29, at 10:30 a.m.

Parents and Twos : Storytimes for caregivers and children ages 2 to 3 ½.
Forest Park Branch, 380 Belmont Avenue, 263-6843, Tuesdays, April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, at 10 a.m.

Preschool Storytime : For children ages 3 to 5.
East Forest Park Branch, 122 Island Pond Road, 263-6836, Thursdays, March 27, April 3, 10, 17, 24, and May 1, at 10 a.m.; or
Sixteen Acres Branch, 1187 Parker Street, 263-6858, Thursdays, March 27, April 3, 10, 17, and May 1, at 10 a.m.; or
East Springfield Branch, 21 Osborne Terrace, 263-6840, Fridays, March 28, April 4, 11, 18, 25, and May 2, at 10:30 a.m.

Dora and Diego Club : This club for kids aged 2 ½ to 5 with caregivers features Dora & Diego stories, and other stories too, activities, music, snacks, and more!

NEW! Lunch Buddies : For children 3 and up.

Drop-in Crafts

Children and families are invited to complete a craft project when they visit the library. All activities are free, and no registration is necessary. The schedule for drop-in crafts activities is:

Brightwood Branch: Wednesdays, 3:30-5.

East Forest Park Branch: Mondays, 3-4:30 pm

East Springfield Branch: Fridays, 2-4 pm.

Indian Orchard Branch: Wednesdays, 3-6.

Liberty Branch: Tuesdays, 3-4:30.

Mason Square Branch: Wednesdays, 3:30 - 4:30 pm

Pine Point Branch: Thursdays, 3-7.

Sixteen Acres Branch: Saturdays, 11-3.
PLUS a special origami drop-in activity from 12-2 on the third Saturday of the month.
