WHAT'S NEW at the Library for Teens!
TEEN CENTRAL IS WHERE IT'S AT!
Come In, Hang Out at the Library
February 8 – Sweet Scents. Make a little pot of solid perfume and some almond-scented hair mist – just in time for Valentine's Day. 4:00 – 5:30 in the CL community room.
Teen Central is for teens ages 12-18 who are looking for opportunities to hang out with their peers and enjoy activities and discussions relating to their interests: anime, current issues, books, creative writing and poetry, crafts, and more. Teen Central gives teens a way to serve the Library by choosing books, music and movies for the collection and by planning and hosting programs of their own.

To celebrate Teen Tech Week local teens can try their hand at two fun computer programs, Animoto and Wordle in the Central Library Computer Lab, 220 State Street, Springfield. According to their creators, “Wordle is a toy for generating word clouds from text that you provide. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.” And Animoto quickly and easily will turn your photos and video clips into professional video slideshows. Teens, it's easy to take part; there's no need to pre-register, just drop in to the Library from 4-5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6! If you have any questions please call Martha at (413) 263-6828, x425.
