YU-GI-OH TOURNAMENT AT THE LIBRARY
Central Library Community Room
Saturday, November 22, 12:30-4 pm
Teens are invited to take on their peers in a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament in the Central Library's Community Room on Saturday, November 22, from 12:30 - 4:00 p.m. Play begins at 1:00 p.m. sharp; entrants must be on time. Teens age 12 to 19 can reserve a spot by calling Martha at 263-6828, ext. 425, asking at any Springfield library, or by signing up online. Refreshments will be served and small prizes will be awarded to the winners through the generosity of The Friends of the Springfield Library, Inc. The Central Library is located at 220 State Street, Springfield.
Central Library Anime Club
The Anime Club usually meets on the first Monday of each month from 4-5 pm in the Central Library Community Room. However there are some special dates due to holiday closings and other scheduling conflicts. Here are the dates of our meetings:
November 3rd (first Monday)
December 1st (first Monday)
Intriguing story lines, exciting graphics and huge popularity - welcome to the world of anime and manga. These Japanese story and cartoon genres have dramatically increased in popularity in recent years, and area youths are eager to get more. Anime fans from 11 to 19 years of age are invited to join the club, which will meet in the Community Room from 4:00 - 5:00 pm the first Monday of each month. Members will view anime episodes, discuss favorite books and videos, and more.
A wide selection of popular manga paperbacks is available to be borrowed from the library. For more information contact Sarah at 263-6828 x 201 or Martha at x 425.
