The Teen Advisory Board (or TAB) at the Central Library is seeking teens that love the Library and want to help shape its teen services! TAB is a forum for teens ages 13 through high school who want to suggest materials that the Library should purchase for teens to check out, such as great books, music, and videos. Young Adult Librarian Martha Coons said, "TAB members spend 3-5 hours a month working with other teens on projects such as setting up displays, writing for the Teen Page, and planning book discussions, movies, or dance and music events. TAB teens may volunteer at library events, and they publish a newsletter of book reviews and original writing and drawing. Community service minded teens are encouraged to join." See below for the Fall schedule of TAB meetings. An interest in serving others in the community and in participating in the meetings regularly is helpful. Potential TAB members fill out a simple registration form at their first meeting. Refreshments are served and everyone has fun! For more information, call Martha at 263-6828, ext. 425 or stop by the reference desk in Teen Central, located on the 2nd floor at the Central Library, 220 State Street.
