Storytelling Sequence Cards

Story Sequence Cards

Sand Table
This small sand table with lid allows children to explore sand at a comfortable height outside or even indoors. Animal Memory (Memo Animal)
This innovative memory game has children matching animals with their skin patterns. Each animal card has a hole in it. Each skin pattern card shows a square with the animal's skin design but not the shape of the animal. Tangoes: The Puzzle Game Ages
Tangoes are based on tangrams, an ancient Chinese puzzle game. Players use seven shapes to try and reproduce a puzzle picture. This game can be played by one player or by two players racing against each other to recreate the puzzle with their own card. 5 - Adult. This game is recommended for ages 5 and up, but the puzzles are challenging. Answers are shown on the back of each card.

X-Men
Game is comprised of 45 wooden "men" in four colors. To play the game, children build the men in a pre-agreed upon manner until one person knocks all the men down. Many variations on the game are possible. Ages 3+

Assessment Kits

ASQ--Ages and Stages Questionnaires: A Parent-Completed Child-Monitoring System Ages 4 months to 5 years
The ASQ system is available for review particularly by childcare providers and preschool teachers who have been awarded grants by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. This is one of the assessment systems grantees may choose to purchase through the grant. The paper edition of ASQ is available in English, Spanish, French, and Korean. CD-ROM editions are available in English and Spanish. The ASQ system screens children aged four months to five years in communication skills, fine and gross motor skills, problem-solving skills, and social/emotional skills.

COR--Preschool Child Observation Record Ages 2 ½ to six years
The COR system is available for review particularly by childcare providers and preschool teachers who have been awarded grants by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. This is one of the assessment systems grantees may choose to purchase through the grant. The Preschool COR assessment tool is appropriate for use with children aged two and a half to six. The assessment looks at six areas: initiative, social relations, creative representation, movement and music, language and literacy, and mathematics and science.

Creative Curriculum for Preschool Ages 3 to 5
The Creative Curriculum system is available for review particularly by childcare providers and preschool teachers who have been awarded grants by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. This is one of the assessment systems grantees may choose to purchase through the grant. Creative Curriculum for Preschool is appropriate for children between the ages of three and five. This system identifies 50 objectives in four developmental areas (social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language).

Ounce Scale Birth to 3 1/2
This assessment covers six areas of development: Personal Connections, Feelings About Self, Relationships with other Children, Understanding and Communicating, Exploration and Problem Solving, and Movement and Coordination.

Work Sampling System -- Preschool 3 & 4 Classroom Kit
The Work Sampling system is available for review particularly by childcare providers and preschool teachers who have been awarded grants by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. This is one of the assessment systems grantees may choose to purchase through the grant. Work Sampling assists teachers in documenting a child's skills using activities and experiences that occur naturally in the classroom. The Work Sampling System considers personal and social development, language and literacy, mathematical thinking, scientific thinking, social studies, the arts, and physical development. For use with children aged 3 and 4.

Ball Take-Home Pack
These packs are intended for use by a child and her family to reinforce classroom concepts. The Ball pack contains the book The Ball Book, a parent letter and activity guide, wipe-off crayons, a small playground ball (deflated), a ball inflator and instructions for use and 3 pieces of sidewalk chalk. Ages 3+

Beginning Sounds Sorting Board
This set includes a magnetic board and 72 picture tiles for sorting based on beginning sounds. Ages 4+

Color Mixing Take-Home Pack
These packs are intended for use by a child and her family to reinforce classroom concepts. The Color pack contains the book Little Blue and Little Yellow, a parent letter and activity guide, activity mats, color mixing tiles, and crayons.

Early Language Concept Kit: Object Matching
Kit includes activity cards and miniatures to help children develop visual discrimination skills. Children match the miniatures to concept cards built around themes, such as the ocean. Directions and extension activities are included. Ages 3+

Early Language Concept Kit: What Goes Together?
This set includes eight activity cards and 24 miniatures. Children choose the miniatures that go with the pictures on their card -- the bone goes with the dog; the plane goes with the airport. Ages 3+

Rhyming Words Activity Kit

Infant Kits

Infant Kit
This set includes the board book Wow! Math Kits

Counting Box: Apple Tree

Children place apples on apple tree counting mats, according to the number printed at the base of the tree. Ten mats and sixty apples are included. Activities are suggested on the bottom of the box. Ages 3+

Counting Mats: Fish
This kit contains ten two-sided fish bowl mats. On one side, children read the number at the top of the bowl and put the correct number of foam fish in the bowl. On the other side, children can trace and practice writing the number with the write and wipe crayons. Activity guide is included. Ages 3+

Division Theme Bag
This theme bag includes the book The Doorbell Rang, twelve vinyl cookies, a toy cookie pan, and a teacher's guide. When Mom makes cookies, it's easy to figure out how to divide them fairly, but every time the doorbell rings, it gets a little harder!
